New Fashion Trend....Cut Out Arms

Have you all seen this new trend in tops?  The cut out arm detail?  I bought this delicate, little top a while back at Target, and when I purchased it I didn't even notice this fun little feature.  I just bought it because, as you know if you read this blog, I tend to buy the same type of items when I find something I like.  I.E. stripes, Tory Burch, this yummy mustard color, etc.  So when I saw this little number, I had to have it and the Target price tag always helps the cause.  Now, I'm loving the cut out look and I think you will to!

I went shopping the other day at Nordstrom, and I can spot the spring trends a mile away on all the displays.  It's the same ones I'm seeing in the magazines and on all my favorite web sites and today I want to share them with you.  Now I know, there are certain trends, like the bare midriff top on the runways that designers are showing.  I'm not focusing on the runway trends here,  I'm focusing on what's in the stores that we will, and should be wearing this spring.   Here are my top ten, trendy finds you must have in your wardrobe this spring.

My Chalk Painted Bookcase.....

Check out what I've been working on.....

I chalk painted the back of the built in bookcase and then stenciled, in a pale pink chalk paint, over the grey. 

Here's the before...

Here's how to get this wallpaper look with out the mess......

Paint a coat of French Linen mixed with Old White.  Just use half of each, stir it up and paint on the wall.

Take a stencil of your choice, I used a damask pattern yet I only used a portion of the pattern.  Mix up the pink color, Antoinette, with Old White.  Again, half of each, and stir. 

Roll on with the small roller brush of the stencil.  You can layer and don't worry if it gets a little messed up.  It gives the look some character!

When this all dries, mix up half clear wax and half dark wax in a bowl and apply to the wall.  Then wipe off any excess and your done.  Fabulous, wall paper look that is so much easier to apply!

Side Swept Hair.... Must or Bust?

Did you all notice during the Oscar's all the side swept hair styles? I did, and for me, it reminds me a little bit of the old school hairstyles our grandmothers might have worn back in the 20's or 30's.  (OK, great-grandmothers for some of you!)  I welcome this off set, throw back style since I've worn it myself, and I think it is really going to take off.  Here's a few of the Oscar celebs who sported the style this past weekend.
